Description
Learning how to run reWoven has had many challenges. One of them is creating a pattern for each design that the weavers can follow as a guide. When I brought this design to Sevda and Leyla it wasn‘t long until they informed me that I made a mistake in my calculations. Classic Moghan runners have 2 columns of ‘guls‘ running the length of the center. Apparently I had made the width of the pattern far to short. They said, “Don‘t worry Michael. We will simply make a single column of guls on a solid colored field. Since its a narrow carpet we could make a sister carpet right next to it on the same loom!” I was amazed by how quickly they solved and how effectively the improvised on the fly without a accurate pattern to go off of. This rug was woven on the same loom simultaneously with its sister rug which was sold very quickly. The sister rug had a deep blue field. I can‘t choose which I like better!
